Rachid was born in Sweden and started to dance at the age of 5. At first he didn’t like dancing very much but his teachers saw the talent and potential of the little boy and convinced him that dancing was for him. At the age of 16 he won his first national championship as a junior.
After graduating school he left Sweden for Norway and during the two years he stayed there, he met Anna.
Anna was born in Moscow, Russia and started dancing at the age of 8. At first it was not very serious but progressed to her main interest when she was about 12. She became a Russian Junior 10 dance champion and the same year became the first ever World Champion from Russia winning the Junior World 10 dance championship. She moved to Norway at the age of 17 to continue her dancing career and this is where she met Rachid and they started their successful partnership 2 years later.
They teamed up together in 2002, and they danced their first 5 years as amateurs representing Sweden and turned professional after winning the IDU World Amateur Championships in the end of 2006. They were undefeated both as Swedish Amateurs- and Norwegian Professionals. Rachid and Anna had the honour of representing both countries at World and European Championships. They reached the Professional European Latin final 3 times but were placed outside the final at the Worlds.
